Somnio Lupus is a literate post-by-post role-playing game that takes place on a planet very much like earth. If you could see it, it would be the image of a young earth before things were civilized and destroyed by the human race. Only animals inhabit this planet, but the wolves are the most successful predatory animal. Free to roam anywhere, except on another pack's land; these wolves are both alike and different than wolves on Earth. Many of the sub-species that exist on earth have also grown to exist here, but six unique sub-species have also formed and adapted to the life they live now. Roam where you wish, but be prepared to face the consequences of your actions.

Winter is a cruel mistress in this world. Nights are longer and the ground freezes at night. The waters all over the continent have become freezing, though one can still travel through them. Each biome is affected differently. The Northern Rainforests see only a cold rain; The swamplands get continuous, cold rain with mixed hail; the Central Savannah is randomly covered in as much as four inches of snow; the Central Forests are rarely not covered in snow and its as deep as 10 inches; the Western Drylands are seeing mixed rain, snow and sleet at least once a week; the beaches to the East are cold and snowy, and ice can be seen forming around the shore; and the Southern Icelands are experiencing a horrendous blizzard that has no signs of letting up anytime soon.
» 12. 13. 08 Somnio Lupus opened to the public yesterday. Please note that we are only freshly opened and, of course, need active members at this time. If anyone has any questions you can ask in the c-box or email me. Other than that we are eagerly awaiting more members to join us. At any rate, have a great day and I hope you find an RP site for you. :]

In Character
Northern Rainforests (3 sub-boards) To the far north of all the other lands lays the beautiful tropics. Here the smaller species thrive and frolick, able to hide easily in the thick underbrush. There are tropical creatures in abundance, and rain comes often. The water, however, is full of dangers.

North-Eastern Swamplands (3 sub-boards) The swamplands are to the northeast. The trees here are massive and, because of their gnarled state, they are easy to climb up. The marsh is thick. One can swim in it, or walk through it, but quicksand also lies within. Struggle when you're stuck and you'll be worse for the wear.
These lands are neutral among the sub-species. There may be packs here, but they get along despite their differences.

Central Savannah (3 sub-boards) These savannahs stretch on for miles, as far as the eye can see. Long legged or amber colored breeds are often found here. Other’s can live, but those with the same coat colors as the environment always have a better chance at survival. Antelope, wilder beast, and various other plains-living prey live here. There are also some dangers around waterways, such as crocs and alligators.

Central Forests (3 sub-boards) These forests are composed of evergreens and your typical woodland tree. oak, maple, and various other trees provide homes for birds, rodents, etc. Most specis can survive easily here, feeding off nuts, rodents, or berries.

Western Drylands (3 sub-boards) These massive drylands are full of dunes, and there is hardly a sign of life. Like in the rainforests, smaller species survive here better than large species. It’s also easier to survive here if your ears and paws are large, to filter out the heat. The brighter the coat, the safer in these hot climates.

Eastern Beaches (3 sub-boards) These beaches are covered with unique prey. Crabs, birds, starfish, and other crunchy crustations run rampant at sunset. Most species can survive well here, finding it easier to hunt the simple prey. Fresh, salt-free water is hard to find though, unless one moves inland a bit. Surrounding the shores are trees and shrubbery. Berries abound on these shorelines in the summer and autumn, and fruit can often be found on trees.

Southern Icelands (3 sub-boards) Cold, frigid air makes it harder to survive here. Prey is abundant, though scattered. Moose, caribou, and other related prey travel and migrate through these areas. The land here is almost always frozen and moist, snow almost always falls. Only one with a thick pelt is most likely to survive here, though others have been able to prove this wrong. Digging a tunnel under the snow often results in a warm slumber during the night.
